To all our neighbors & friends in our Pleasant River communities and all over Downeast Maine, we wish you all near and far and wherever you are a Happy season.

This year in particular has been — well, you all know — incredibly difficult for many of our neighbors and loved-ones. There have been rough & tough times, and there have been wonderful & wondrous times; people have suffered unimaginably, and there’s been unbelievably generous acts of kindness. Some have nearly lost everything while others have given nearly it all to help. This is what makes this community - and Downeast Maine - a wonderful place to be a part of, this is what makes it special: the people. The close knit communities of friends and families that come together when times are tough to help one-another in ways only we can.

This is just one of the many, many reasons we are grateful this year that we get to be not just your local transfer station, but more over, your neighbor.

We’ve celebrated the good times and endured the hard times, with you and your families. We’re not just a place in this community, we are a real part of this community. We’re family, friends, neighbors.

It’s because of you that PRSWDD is here.
It’s because of you that we hope to be here for many years to come.

While none of us may miss much of 2020, we will always remember and be be grateful for the parts of it where our communities and neighbors came together to help one-another, and for letting us be a part of it.

We hope that those of you that can (safely) spend time with your loved ones locally this holiday season, do enjoy this time together; we hope and pray for all our neighbors experiencing hardship that you may find comfort and hope.
Stay safe, stay strong, stay healthy.

We are all Downeast Maine.

Happy Holidays to you all ❄️🎄🙏

A friendly reminder to our residents and neighbors: we are funded by the participating towns, and provide services at the transfer station to all participating town residents. We realize that recent situations both in the world and our corner of Downeast Maine have effected everyone on a really big scale; as your neighbors, we care. However, please remember that when the station is closed we are unable to receive disposals or drop-offs; please don’t leave rubbish, recycling, waste, or trash at the station unattended. Secondly, while there are fees for services and we try to keep the pricing as reasonable as possible. By leaving rubbish, recycling, or trash at the station unattended after hours is not only not good for the environment and unsanitary or your neighbors and our team, it’s technically a breach of policy and regulations as illegally dumping or littering. Lastly, we realize that circumstances are hard. If you are experiencing hardship and still need our services, please come during our regular hours and talk to us or call. We’re part of these incredible communities and know that the people of Downeast Maine are good, hardworking, honest people. Please do not just leave your waste when we’re closed and drive off. The townspeople and residents that pay for these services are impacted when this happens, as well, as it can be considered not just a breach of community trust, but also construed as theft of services. We want to do what we can to help our community, stay open, and keep our team employed and ensure our communities have a safe place to use our services — this kind of behavior doesn’t help us do that. We know that these are isolated incidents and hope we can work with our neighbors to prevent this from happening. Thank you all for those of you who do use our services and support PRSWDD and our local communities. We are so grateful that these types of incidents are isolated and infrequent. We hope we can all keep it that way. 😊 stay healthy
