Healing takes time.

There are moments when healing feels like progress, and there are moments when it feels slow, messy, or even like you’re moving backward. Setbacks happen. Some days feel heavier than others. Sometimes the life you’re building doesn’t look like the life you had before.

In this edition of our “What I Wish People Knew” series, Kayona Merritt reminds us that those moments do not mean you’re failing. They may be part of learning how to live, adapt, and grow within a new normal.

Healing is not always a straight line. Give yourself permission to be a work in progress.

What is one thing you’ve had to relearn or adjust to in your own healing journey?

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re grateful for opportunities to continue meaningful conversations about care, connection, and accessibility in our community.

Recently, Robin of MyndSpace and Stephanie of Everyday Wellness joined WIS TV on Soda City Living to share about the new partnership between EW and MyndSpace and what this collaboration means for Columbia and the surrounding counties.

With therapy and psychiatric care now available in one shared space, this partnership helps create more accessible, collaborative, and comprehensive support for individuals, couples, and families navigating real life and real mental health challenges.

By bringing services together under one roof, we hope to reduce barriers to care and create a more connected, supportive experience where providers can collaborate to meet each person’s unique needs.

Whether someone is beginning therapy for the first time, looking for medication support, navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, or simply trying to function well in everyday life, this partnership was created with community in mind.

Thank you to WIS TV and Soda City Living for creating space for this important conversation. We’re excited for what this means for the people we serve.

Just because someone is functioning does not mean they are okay.

People can still go to work, answer texts, care for others, smile, show up, and quietly carry exhaustion, anxiety, grief, overwhelm, or pain at the same time. Functioning is not always the same thing as healing.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, Ashley Bolton shares a reminder to check in with yourself and the people around you with a little more honesty, compassion, and care.

What’s one way you’ve learned to check in with yourself beyond just asking, “Am I getting things done?”

You took the first step to find The Right Fit, and we are so grateful you showed up.

We loved creating space for meaningful conversations, helpful questions, and real connections with clinicians who care.

Finding support does not have to feel overwhelming. Sometimes, it starts with one step, one conversation, and the courage to see what feels right for you.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked questions, and took a step toward care.

Your wellness is worth the search.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Ashley and Nikki recently sat down with WIS-TV for a meaningful conversation about mental health, emotional wellness, stigma, self-care, and what support can look like in everyday life.

From discussing the silent weight many people carry to challenging misconceptions surrounding therapy and emotional health, the conversation created space for honesty, awareness, and reflection.

One reminder shared during the interview: Wellness is not built in one moment. It is often found in the small, consistent decisions we make to care for ourselves, stay connected, slow down, seek support, and pay attention to what is happening internally.

✨Being well is an everyday decision, and you do not have to navigate it alone.

➡️ Watch the playback and join the conversation with us.

Taking care of your mental health is not just for hard seasons. It’s how you show up for yourself in everyday moments and in the way you care for yourself over time.

This month is a reminder to slow down, check in honestly, and make space for what you feel. You do not have to do everything at once. Small, consistent steps add up.

As you move through this carousel, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Let this be a starting point, a reset, or a simple reminder that your care deserves your attention!
