One of the reasons we place safety above all in our agency!!! There are no negotiations on safety. This is an unfortunate situation for the CNA as I know the struggles of a facility. I started my senior care career in a facility and vowed to never look back. Being in a HR role and having to turn the other cheek made it difficult for me to sleep at night. One day, I decided to make a difference and started my journey to help keep seniors home!
💔 What Happened To The CNA Diamond Johnson Is Heartbreaking…
Diamond Johnson, A CNA From Louisiana, Was Charged With Negligent Homicide After A Patient Fell From A Hoyer Lift And Passed Away. 🥺
Most Of Us Know That A Hoyer Lift Is A Two Person Assist, But Let’s Be Real…
A Lot Of CNAs End Up Doing Transfers Alone Because There’s Never Enough Help.
You Look Around And:
👉🏾 Everyone’s Busy With Their Own Patients
👉🏾 The Unit Is Short Staffed
👉🏾 And There’s No One Available To Spot Or Help
So You’re Forced To Choose Between Falling Behind Or Taking The Risk.
Not Because You Want To But Because You’re Trying To Do Your Job And Care For Your Residents. 💔 This Isn’t About Pointing Fingers It’s About Awareness.Facilities Need To Understand That Short Staffing Puts CNAs And Patients At Risk. And CNAs Should Feel Supported Enough To Say,🗣️ “I Need Help With This Transfer,” Without Being Rushed, Ignored, Or Judged.
We All Just Want To Do Our Jobs Safely And Go Home The Same Way We Came In. đź’™
