A background check shouldn't be “one and done.”

Recent cases across the country demonstrate that people working with children can pass an initial background check, later become disqualified, have records missed by screening systems, or continue working around children despite information that should trigger further review.

Also, recent news articles about ICE agents who didn't go through the proper background checks and are now being dismissed from their positions.

I am incredibly proud to announce that I have officially graduated from the Richland County Coroner’s Office Ambassador Program! 🎓

This video shows the moment a missing 16-year-old girl was found in Florida with a 37-year-old man who lured her away from her home via social media. He lied to police, calling her his “cousin,” while she was coached to give a fake name.
