Had a little different job today!

We got to move this 1948 REO Speedwagon flatbed that’s been sitting inside a building since sometime in the ’90s. They needed it out of the way to get some work done inside, so we hooked up with our Ford wrecker and gave the old girl a ride down the street to her new temporary home.

She’s got plenty of rust, but even more character. Pretty neat getting to move a piece of history like this!

Mother’s Day plans changed pretty quickly when Columbia PD called us for a two-car accident.

Since there were two vehicles to clear, we brought out two trucks, loaded both cars, cleaned up the scene, and headed back to the yard.

Once we were safely back, Justin’s son got to help Dad operate the controls during the unload. We might have another tow truck operator in training! 😂

Not every call has to be a complicated recovery!

This single axle dump truck was down with mechanical problems and needed a ride to the repair shop. We hooked it from the rear with our Century 3212 using the U-bolt cups and got it where it needed to go.

Just a simple, straightforward tow!

A little too much truck for the field! 😬

This semi tanker ended up jackknifed into a farm field. We hooked our Century 3212 16-ton wrecker to the tanker and pulled the rear back around, helping straighten the combination enough for the driver to maneuver his way back out.

Sometimes all it takes is the right pull from the right angle. 💪

General Job Information

*On-call responsibility is required. When on call, drivers must answer their phone and be able to respond quickly.

*Drivers take their truck home while on call and may use it for personal errands within Monroe County.

*Modern, fleet of well-maintained and clean trucks

*Rollback (flatbed) trucks are used approximately 90% of the time, with wreckers and specialized equipment available for more complex recoveries.

*Flexible scheduling with plenty of opportunities for extra hours and additional income

*Commission-based pay: 30% of what the truck earns

*Full-time drivers typically average $900-$1,200 per week

*No cap on earning potential — more work equals more pay

*Health Insurance Available after 90 days

I don’t think you can park there… 😂

This Jeep slid off the road the night before and ended up down a pretty good embankment. We responded with our Ford wrecker and Jerr-Dan MPL40, rigged two winch lines to the Jeep, and worked it back up onto the roadway.

Thankfully, there were no injuries and this one had about the best ending you could ask for. Once we got it back on the road, the owner was able to drive the Jeep away!

Imagine looking in your mirror and realizing your boat trailer is no longer behind you.

That's exactly what happened to this customer when their trailer unexpectedly detached while they were driving down the highway, sending the boat and trailer into the ditch.

We responded with our Century 3212 medium-duty wrecker and a rollback. After carefully lifting the boat completely off the trailer, we recovered the trailer, repositioned it underneath the suspended boat, secured everything, and transported it back to the customer's home.

It's not often we get camera footage of the crashes we respond to.

This vehicle left the roadway, crossed through the grass, and collided with two parked vehicles. Thankfully, everyone involved was okay.

After the scene was secured, we responded to recover the damaged vehicles and clear the roadway.

A reminder that things can go wrong in a split second behind the wheel. Stay alert and drive safely.
