Sahd Metal Recycling

🎓♻️ Great morning at the yard with the juniors from Lancaster Catholic High School!

Our crew had an awesome time giving the students a tour of Sahd Metal Recycling and showing them what we do every day! 🦾

With several members of our crew being Lancaster Catholic graduates, it was especially meaningful to share our stories, experiences, and the paths that led us to where we are today.

A huge thank you to the students for taking the time to visit! We always love the opportunity to connect with the next generation and share what makes our industry so special!! 🙌♻️

🎙️ “Everything before 40 is research.” – Carl Young

This was a great reminder and advice from our recent conversation on Dumpster Talks with Alex Piazza of Peaceful Homes! 🔥

He made a comment about how young people are always in a rush to get somewhere, but sometimes we don’t even know where we’re trying to go.

That really resonated with our younger crew. We’re all trying to figure things out, grow, and get to that next step. But sometimes we get so caught up in where we think we should be that we forget to appreciate where we are right now.

It was a good reminder to slow down, take your time, and understand that you don’t have to have everything figured out just yet. 💡

🎙️ On episode 111, we had the opportunity to sit down with Alex Piazza of Peaceful Homes for a conversation about business, purpose, people, and his journey along the way.

This one was a cool one for Todd and Alex, as they’ve known Alex for years through networking events with the Lancaster Chamber! 🔥

Our crew always enjoy getting to hear different perspectives from people in our community, and this was another great opportunity to do just that. 💡

It was great getting to know more about Alex, hearing more about his story, and learning about the work he's doing with Peaceful Homes. And, of course, we made him sit in a dumpster to talk about it all. 😂

“Just do the next right thing.”

In this clip from Dumpster Talks, Ryan shares some advice for the younger generation about figuring out what direction to go in life.

You’re not always going to know exactly what the next 5 or 10 years look like — and that’s okay.

Sometimes you just have to focus on what’s in front of you, make the best decision you can, and do the next right thing. 💡

Simple advice, but definitely something worth remembering. Great way to end Mental Health Awareness Month!

🎙️ In Episode 110 of Dumpster Talks, we are celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month!

This time we sat down with Ryan and Jodi Lapp from Live with Purpose Family to talk about purpose, family, relationships, and the work they’re doing in our community.

One thing we really enjoyed about this conversation was hearing how much of their work comes back to simply caring about people.

We talked about their story, marketplace chaplaincy, supporting employees beyond just what happens at work, and what it really means to live with purpose!

♻️🎙️ Three simple pieces of advice that can go a long way.

Congressman Lloyd Smucker joined us on Dumpster Talks and shared three things he’s learned over the years:

- Work hard. Put in the extra effort and time. It won’t go unnoticed.

- Be kind. How you treat the people you interact with everyday matters.

- Never stop learning. Be a lifelong learner and keep finding ways to grow.

💡 Nothing overly complicated. Just three pretty solid reminders no matter where you are in your career.
