Even though our new engine is at the Missouri State Fair, we are still ready to respond to emergencies in our community. A fully equipped reserve engine has been placed in service at Station 13 throughout the State Fair detail.

Boone County Fire Protection District E1301 went in service this evening as E51 for the Missouri State Fair Fire Department.

Over the next 11 days, members of BCFPD will rotate through staffing the engine, volunteering their time to help provide fire protection and emergency services for the significant number of people expected to attend this year’s Missouri State Fair.

MO-TF1 Deployment Media Release.

Missouri Task Force 1 Deploying to Sikeston for Flood Response

Boone County, Mo. — July 10, 2026 — Missouri Task Force 1 (MO-TF1), a division of the Boone County Fire Protection District, has been activated by the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to deploy as a Type III Task Force with embedded swift water rescue capabilities to assist with the ongoing catastrophic flooding in southeast Missouri.

Additionally, MO-TF1 is deploying a Disaster Situation Awareness and Reconnaissance (DSAR) Mission Ready Package. The DSAR team provides real-time aerial reconnaissance, disaster mapping, and situational awareness using Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. This capability provides incident commanders with critical intelligence to support operational decision-making and resource deployment.

Select MO-TF1 command staff members from the St. Louis area are responding directly to Sikeston and are expected to arrive within the hour. The remainder of the task force will depart Boone County Fire Protection District Headquarters in Columbia, Missouri, by 10:00 a.m.

Missouri Task Force 1 (MO-TF1), which operates as a division of the Boone County Fire Protection District, is one of the nation's 28 federally recognized Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces. The team will deploy with 50 highly trained members and over 100,000 pounds of specialized equipment and rescue boats.

Updates on the deployment will be provided through the Boone County Fire Protection District's social media platforms.
