I wish I could play as beautifully as this lady plays!

One of my clients is a real estate agent and a concert pianist. Wonder how many of her clients also play and would connect to her based on that knowledge?

Social media is all about connecting to your potential clients. When there are thousands of real estate agents to choose from, little details like playing the piano might just be the thing that sways someone to her side over another agent.

My town has a weekly market. They close down several blocks in the middle of downtown for vendors to come set up for the public. I've been wanting to go and introduce myself to these business owners. As a personal brand photographer almost all of them are potential clients.

I put together an informational piece to take with me letting them know about a mini session that I am going to have in September. I've been to this market before and just walk through and looked at all of the people and never stopped to talk to anyone.

This time, however, I did walk up and talk to maybe 13 of the many, many vendors there and got their business cards, talked for a minute or two and gave them my flyer for who I am and what I do and about the upcoming session with a special offer, of course. (I don't offer mini sessions regularly. I prefer to work with clients on a full shoot and get them 3 months of photos to use to help them connect with their audience authentically. This is just an introduction.)

On my way home I was almost upset with myself that I didn't talk to any more than the 13 or 14 I did speak to. But, then I remembered that this is a super win because the first time I went, I spoke to no one. I got out of my head, got out of my own way and out of my comfort zone. It was a baby step and I'm super proud of myself. The next time I go maybe I'll talk to 20. Lol
