I've been thinking about how to amplify mutual aid requests on my Instagram for a while. IG severely limits reach when posting mutual aid requests. Reach for all the things I want to amplify including my campaign against medical racism. Recently I decided not to try to "trick" the algorithm anymore, I'm over it. Going forward I will share mutual aid requests to my stories and save them to my highlights labeled "mutual aid". Currently I'm in Mexico with no cell phone, so when I get one I'll update the highlights and you'll have a one stop shop/resource to visit. ​​​​​​​​

What is something that I wish people knew about mutual aid? That folks often need ONGOING support. People don't stabilize after a few months of support. Quite often goals are not met and people continue to post and repost which is really taxing and traumatic. Big thank you to everyone who has already signed the change petition! We're close to 100 in less than 24 hours. Still can't add the link to my stories or profile right now, but here it is below. Please share the link to sign widely. I'm asking Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer Kala Gibson, to meet with me about the 20 mil earmarked for health equity and antiracism that they gifted . Child I have so many questions and I know yall do too. If you're new here the hospital @/osuwexmed is being federally investigated for civil rights violations. Mine specifically. I would rather be doing almost anything else right now, but time is of the essence. I am asking that people sign my petition to hold Fifth Third accountable for distributing funds meant for antiracism initiatives to a hospital being federally investigated by the Office of Civil Rights, for civil rights violations. Ya'll. How did we get here? ​​​​​​​​
Go to https://www.change.org/fifththird to sign. I lost my phone in my Uber last night (somebody tag them and ask them to get back to me) soooo currently posting the old fashioned way, on a desktop and playing in Canva. 10/10 don't recommend. Lol Please please reshare to stories with an embedded link if you can. Hoping to get at least 1,000 signatures in support of asking Fifth Third's Corporate Responsibility Officer Kala Gibson to meet with me to help me understand how they can reward racism with millions of dollars. ​​​​​​​​

The takeaway is this - THIS is what systemic racism looks like. Exactly this. Racism is NOT just my raggedy nurse denying me care because of the color of my skin, but it is also the corporate execs who look the other way and refuse to say "that's not right".​​​​​​​​
