When an Approach Path Indicator is out, gotta tend to it. What is usually a re-set switch / quick fix turned into swapping out it's 105w bulbs. No idea when it could've happened but it has something to do with water...

A big thank you to our senators and local leadership for their continued investment in the Columbus-Lowndes County Airport's future! The airport's first ever AWOS 3-PT Automated Weather Observation Station will provide down to the minute weather reporting to not just aircraft, but others such as Emergency Management, National Weather Service, and local news outlets.

Great news for Mississippi: 24 airports across our state are receiving more than $20 million in FAA grants for runways, taxiways, hangars, and safety upgrades. Local airports are engines of jobs and economic development, and these awards will help large and small communities alike keep their facilities safe and efficient.

Erin Beran has been a familiar face at Columbus-Lowndes Airport teaching many to fly and giving many more their first plane ride. A door recently opened and she is now an Airline Pilot! Erin the place hasn't been the same but we are all so happy for you!!! Congratulations 🎊

An interesting piece of Presidential history ironically stopped in on President's Day. This 1965 Sikorsky S61V-1 was delivered brand new to Indonesian President Sukarno untill his term ended. It is now owned by Siller Helicopters LLC and used primarily for Forrest Fire / Heavy Lift operations.

An interesting aircraft dropped in today! The Socata Epsilon TB 30 is a light Military trainer manufactured between approximately 1979 and 1989. It's engine is a Lycoming AEIO ( aerobatic / fuel injected ) 540-L1B50 ( 300HP ). Less than 200 produced, this one is Serial #28 and still wears its original paint job from serving in the French Air Force.
