Working on my new series restoring tons of historical photos of Pancho Villa unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Revolución en Retorno is an act of visual justice, archival repair, and intergenerational storytelling. I’m restoring and reanimating damaged and censored images using 3D ghost-mesh rendering, some AI enhancements, colorization, and digitally hand-painting each image in Procreate and Photoshop. I also use embodied compositing, photographing parts of my own body to fill in erased limbs, hair, fabric, or fragments in damaged originals. My flesh becomes an extension of theirs.
