Spotlight on Rae Lamons: The Heart Behind Connecting Families Project
We are thrilled to shine the spotlight on the driving force behind Connecting Families Project, Rae Lamons. As the owner and Family Monitor, Rae's journey to creating this incredible initiative stems from her deep love and devotion to the community she holds dear.
A mother of three children herself, Rae's life took an unexpected turn during her own divorce, plunging her into a world that felt entirely foreign as she navigated the complexities of the legal system. Through this challenging time, she discovered that there are individuals out there who genuinely care for families and have an unwavering commitment to the well-being of the children caught in the midst of separating parents.
Determined to make a positive impact and support families facing similar challenges, Rae set out on a mission to create a safe and nurturing space - thus, the Connecting Families Project was born. With a heart full of empathy and a desire to see the greater good for children, Rae pursued training and prepared to offer supervised visitations on a part-time basis.
However, fate had other plans for Rae when the Covid pandemic hit, turning her world upside down. Realizing that juggling her demanding career, three children, and their schedules amidst the new normal was untenable, Rae took a leap of faith and dedicated herself full-time to providing supervised visitation services for families.
The journey was not without its hurdles as uncertainties loomed, but Rae's determination to create a place where families could reunite was unwavering. Many families arrived at Connecting Families Project, some of whom hadn't seen their children in years. Rae understood the profound importance of the parent-child bond, as she herself could not bear the thought of being separated from her own children.
By opening the doors of Connecting Families Project, Rae not only stepped in to help families when another center closed after decades of service, but she also inspired positive change within her community. In her desire to make a difference, she hired and trained another individual who later went on to open her own center, amplifying the impact even further.
We are incredibly blessed to have Rae Lamons and the Connecting Families Project as a beacon of hope for families in need. The dedication, love, and genuine care Rae provides ensure that the best interests of the children they serve are always at the forefront.
Let's join together in celebrating Rae Lamons, a true champion for families, and thank her for making our community a better place, one family at a time.
