Would You Repair This Control Board or Replace It? 🤔

Most people would replace the entire control board, but I decided to take a different approach!

This washer had a faulty pressure switch, so instead of replacing the whole board, I soldered in a new one to get it working again.

Sometimes it’s the smallest components that cause the biggest problems! 🔧

Would you trust a repaired control board, or would you rather replace the whole thing? 👀

I Thought I Found the Problem… I Was Wrong 😭

I thought I had this dryer figured out.

The fuse was bad, so I cleaned out the vent, replaced the fuse and thought we were good to go.

Nope. Still not working 😭

Time to dig a little deeper.

After some more troubleshooting, I found the real problem and got this dryer back up and running.

Sometimes the first bad part you find isn’t the whole story.

They Replaced the Control Board 3 TIMES… But Was It the Right Control Board? 😳

This washer would power itself on as soon as it was plugged in.

The control board had already been replaced three times, but the exact same problem kept coming back. After digging into the diagnosis, I discovered something important! The board was the problem, but they had been installing the wrong part number.

Sometimes it’s not about replacing another part. It’s about making sure you’re replacing the right one.

Has Your Fridge Ever Leaked? How Did You Fix It? 💧

Ever find water pooling underneath your fridge or in the bottom of your freezer?

On this one, the defrost drain was clogged. During normal operation, frost builds up on the evaporator and is melted during the defrost cycle. That water is supposed to travel through the drain and into the drip pan underneath the refrigerator.

When that drain gets clogged, the water has nowhere to go, so it backs up, freezes, and can eventually start leaking where it shouldn’t.

A simple problem, but definitely a messy one!

Would You Fix This or Send the Part Back? 👀

Brand new evaporator fan showed up with a broken wire… but I wasn’t letting that stop the repair. A solder seal connector and a little heat, and we were back in business. 🔧
