Hello fellow South End friends and family. There have been some questions and concerns about our family business, Children's Academy Daycare Center. Our family founded and opened the doors to serve the Southside community in 1974. We proudly grew up in the community as well. My parents, Ron and Barbara Sams, worked every single day, and finally, at the ages of 84, they decided to retire. My sister, Beth, was the director of the school for over 40 years. I worked there as well for over 20 years. My parents decided to sell the school and land simply because it was time.
We will always hold the Southside near and dear to our hearts. I went to Hamilton while my siblings went to Marian Franklin and Wherle. My parents always believed in our community and loved all the thousands of kids and multiple generations we served at the school.
One thing I want to make perfectly clear is that we are not selling due to the area demographics or it changing in any way. WE LOVE OUR SOUTH SIDE FAMILY!
The A+ Children's Academy charter school we founded is still on part of the property until we sell.They may negotiate with the new buyer to stay on the property. It is a public school in which we are no longer affiliated with and has a separate ran school board.
Thank you to all of our friends and family who have supported and trusted us with your children and babies throughout the years. You will always hold a special place in our heart ❤️
