MelissaRoshan - From the days of her tumultuous childhood, MelissaRoshan knew she was meant for so much more. Vowing to overcome, she became committed to encouraging young women to heal from wounded pasts. Today she has grown into a full time freelance artist, auto show narrator, motivational speaker,and published author. Her riveting memoir, "A Beautiful Freedom" chronicles her personal evolution from trial to triumph.

This event is for girls age 12 - 18 and their mothers or mentors only. Due to space constraints, please do not bring younger siblings or other family members.
The event is free of charge, but each attendee (both girls and mothers/mentors) must pre-register separately and present a ticket to enter. Parking is available at the Hyatt Regency for $4.

WORKSHOP INFORMATION
For the first time, the Purple Teen Party will include special workshops for teen attendees and their parents/mentors following the keynote speaker and fashion show. All teens may choose one of six different workshops.
Parents and Mentors will all attend a separate workshop titled
A Mother's Perspective: When Teen Dating Violence Strikes Your Home, where a mother shares her journey as she continues to deal with Teen Dating Violence and the affects it has had on her family.
Teens must choose only ONE workshop when they register for the event.
The workshops offered are:
Paint to Empower
With Anna Sokol, Art Educator & owner of Art with Anna
In this workshop you will create a personal masterpiece using watercolors and powerful words and phrases that inspire. Each participant will take home their piece as a reminder of their personal worth.

Hands-on activities and great discussions with peers to learn how to become a more confident and assertive person.
Vinyasa Yoga: Embrace your Inner Strength Through Breath and Movement

Seeking a dedicated, core group of HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS to become peer educators and leaders through the Let's Talk Respect Program.

Girls will discuss the social issues and pressures effecting teens today including dating relationships, peer pressure, su***de and substance abuse. Teens will be equipped with the skills and resources to help themselves or friends.
