The transition from athlete to the next phase in life is rarely an easy one. No matter when the time comes to hang up the jersey, a shift in outlook, discipline, and goals faces every athlete. Some face this due to injury, some don’t make it past high school athletics, and some face it after long successful careers in the sport. No matter when this time comes, one thing always holds true: the value and opportunity you build for yourself while you are in the midst of playing your game will benefit you in the long run.

A huge welcome to Aarnav Bhagwan, our summer 2026 intern! Aarnav’s joining us to get hands-on experience with our ReBILT program, specifically with the launch of LegacyAcres, and to help us further digitalize the BILT Connections SPV model.

What made you excited to work with BILT this summer?
- “I’m really excited to learn from a team that’s building real solutions and to gain experience working at an intersection of both technology and business.”

What are your future goals?
- “I hope to pursue a career in software engineering, focused on both Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.”

What are some fun facts about you?
- “My favorite sport is basketball, and I love getting active in different ways, and because of this I am also a Black belt in karate.”

Jaeden Ricketts, a freshman wide receiver at Ohio State, understands the power of mentorship and real-world experience. He’s seeing first-hand how our model helps student athletes gain business savvy through equity-for-marketing agreements and alumni athlete engagement. He’s forming relationships and learning from some of the best to have ever done it, putting himself in position to have a powerful network when his transition from football comes.

Okay, quick story from last week that just proves how amazing our local businesses are. When the extremely difficult and tragic situation unfolded with our original caterer, Cocky’s Bagels came through in a HUGE way for our event. The owners literally drove from Cleveland, baby in tow, to provide fantastic catering with less than a weeks notice.

Their bagel sandwiches? Absolutely top-notch. Everyone was raving. It’s this kind of dedication and willingness to help out that makes you want to shout from the rooftops about a business. They didn’t just provide food; they provided peace of mind and made our event a success. Keene and Natalie are incredible humans who we cannot thank enough.
