Winter Weather Tips During the Winter Storm:

The Sheriff has declared a Level 2 Snow Emergency. We are asking the public to stay off the roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary. This helps keep you safe and allows road crews and first responders to do their jobs efficiently.

Please use extreme caution if you must travel. Road conditions remain hazardous. For the most up-to-date information, download the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office app.

With snow in the forecast for the next few days, CPD wants to offer this friendly reminder: ALWAYS clear your entire windshield, windows, back window, and roof in winter weather! Snow falling off your car while driving can decrease visibility for you AND other drivers. PLEASE take it slow on the roads ❄️❄️

Fairfield County is now under a Level 2 Snow Advisory. Roadways are hazardous with drifting and blowing snow. Roads may be very icy. Motorist should use extreme caution.

For our final day, we present K-9 Hope. Thank you for following along with us, and have a Happy Holiday Season!

Day 24: K-9 Hope is a 1-year-old English Labrador. She works statewide out of the Patrol’s General Headquarters as a therapy dog. When it’s snowing outside, she enjoys being outside in the cold and eating snowflakes. ❄️

Favorite toy: Green frog
Favorite treat: Anything bacon flavored
Best Holiday memory: This will be Hope’s first holiday season as an OSHP K-9. She is looking forward to spreading “Hope” and joy to everyone she sees.
What’s on Hope’s holiday wish list? Toys and treats, and getting smiles from everyone she meets!
Favorite off-duty activity? Playing with her dog friends and her handler.
