(Pushing Upward; Striving Higher) was an idea that was mentally shelved for about three years. Founder, Lanita Lucas, noticed a growing trend of kids who lacked the drive and ambition to pursue their dreams. Partially because they didn't have a lot of exposure to jobs/careers beyond their own household, and partially because they didn't really know how to get started. Lanita had all these grand id

eas about how she wanted to transition this dream to reality, but she too lacked the knowledge on how to get this off the ground. Finally, after getting inspired by some coworkers, she just verbalized her idea and put it out there. The same message that was geared toward the kids also applied to her-- all she needed was exposure and opportunity. . .and so the journey began. was created to provide teens and pre-teens with opportunities for exposure to career choices and face-time with experts in their field of interest.
