Sometimes we think of motivation as a well we have to “tap” into – and if that well runs dry, then we’re just out of luck.

Thankfully, this isn’t the case.

Motivation is like a muscle – sometimes we have to flex it even if we’re not sure it’s actually there (spoiler alert – it is).

The Readiness Scale is a motivational interviewing technique that can help us work out the motivation muscle – think about whatever goal you’re working towards, and on a scale of 1-10, assess how motivated you are to achieve it (1 being not at all, 10 being fully committed).
Let’s say you’re at a 5 – what do you think will help you get to a 7? What do you think it would be like to be at a 9?

Try it out and let us know how it goes below!

Do you ever find yourself procrastinating? (Honestly, who hasn’t?)

If you need a little help getting back on track with your to-dos, give the Pomodoro technique a try (no tomatoes required).

Set a timer for a short, reasonable amount of time (I personally recommend 10-15 minutes to start). Then, for that stretch of time, the only thing that should be on your mind is the task of your choice. After the time is up, reward yourself with a five minute break.

Then, repeat!

Let us know if this trick works for you in the comments below!

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s.[1] The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a pomodoro, from the Italian word for 'tomato...

What is Neurofeedback?

Glad you asked!

Neurofeedback is "brain training"; a new practice of addressing various issues through technology that lets you see what your brain is doing, which then gives you the opportunity to actually train your brain to be its best.
