We’re proud to have assisted Drake University with its 2022 Meredith Hall historic revitalization project.

Our team’s quick and cost-effective abatement work, made possible by decades of experience handling similar jobs, allowed the university to finish the entire operation under budget and ahead of schedule.

Now, the 57-year-old building (which was designed by world-renowned architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe) can reopen in time for Drake University’s spring 2023 semester.

Due to their decades of historical revitalization experience, Earth Services & Abatement (ESA), Inc. was able to help Drake University keep its 2022 Meredith Hall renovation project under budget and ahead of schedule, even while facing compressed timelines.

ESA quickly and safely removed 44,000 square feet of asbestos-containing fireproofing, 200 feet of ACM TSI pipe insulation, and 1,500 square feet of ACM floor tile and mastic from the historic property—allowing subsequent re-construction crews to begin rehabbing it.

Thanks to ESA’s hard work, Drake University can now reopen the 57-year-old building (which was designed by world-renowned architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe) in time for the spring 2023 semester.

Our Iowa Demolition team members did a great job with this roughly 350,000-square-foot demo project in Fort Dodge!

They safely tackled multiple roof section separations, the discovery and removal of an unknown utility vault, the removal of a concrete-encased asbestos-containing pipe, and other unique site challenges throughout the multi-phase operation.

Now, the city can begin building its $90 million Corridor Plaza District, a brand-new entertainment center that will span 31 acres!

As Iowa Demolition tore down the old Crossroads Mall in Fort Dodge, Iowa, they gave the city space to build a brand-new entertainment plaza.

Though multiple roof section separations (plus the removal of an unknown utility vault and concrete-encased asbestos-containing pipe) made this multi-phase operation uniquely challenging, Iowa Demo’s crews rose to the occasion.

Now, work can begin on the Corridor Plaza District, a $90 million redevelopment project that will bring 31 acres of exciting new shopping, dining, lodging, and events space to the Fort Dodge community!
