More muscle burns more calories

More calories burned means more calories needed to perform/ maintain

More calories needed to perform/ maintain means less of those calories are eaten in excess and stored as fat

Moral of the story. Build more muscle. Eat enough food to support that. Boom, healthy metabolism.

What will kill a healthy metabolism? Not eating enough calories/ protein, avoiding strength training and only doing cardio, s**t recovery habits.

Don’t let this be you

Too many people hear this from their doctor & just accept their fate. They think “this is life I guess” and move on.

F**k that

Your body is the ONLY THING on earth you have 100% control of.

Take control of it or it will control you.

“I’ll do anything you say, I’m just not giving up my wine 🍷 “ 🫠

If you’re coming into it with this mindset, you’re ultimately setting yourself up for failure

To put it plain & simple, drinking regularly isn’t the best strategy when trying to get “in shape” (whatever that may mean to you)

I know that may not be surprising to some of you but you’d be surprised on how commonly I run into this. Not only is alcohol detrimental to muscle gain, it’s often high in calories, it’s easy to have more than a few drinks, and afterwords your brains ability to decide when it’s full is drowned out & often times can lead to overeating

Obviously everyone can enjoy a drink in moderation, most of us are full grown adults, but if you rely on alcohol to have a good time & find yourself drinking more than a few times per week, it doesn’t matter how many days a week you go to the gym or how well you eat during the day; don’t expect to reach your goals as quickly than those who drink less regularly 🤷🏼‍♂️

You can do all the things on earth, but if it’s not the right thing to do what are you really doing?

Now there are “technically” no right or wrong ways to approach something in this space, but there are things that are appropriate to do given the person in question, and there’s not so appropriate things to do. Usually, people are motivated by a problem and throw everything in the kitchen sink at it at once and are surprised/ discouraged when the target isn’t hit the first time. In most cases, not the most appropriate strategy.

Get started. Find your weak points & what you can improve on. Relentlessly focus on improving those things. Reasses. Repeat.

Keep it simple & give it hell

Stay strong. Stay capable.

It’s so overstated it’s cliche, but it’s true..

You don’t have to reinvent the fu**in wheel.

You don’t have to do everything all at once.

You just have to be a LITTLE bit better than you were the day before

And over time you’ll be a LOTTA bit better than who you were before

Don’t slow down. Don’t stop. Just keep going, one step at a time.

Never stop improving

You suck at what you suck at

And that’s uncomfortable for a lot of people, especially when they get started.

So what happens? We’ll if you’re anything like literally everyone else, we are more motivated to do what we’re already decently good at & avoid things that we think we’re “bad” at.

In order to make real progress we HAVE to improve. That means doing what you suck at until you suck at that thing less. All the sudden you don’t suck at the thing.

If you avoid squatting because your knee hurts when you squat. your knee is going to hurt every single time you squat for the rest of your life. OR you train what you can train and strengthen the joint over time so that you eventually can squat pain free.

You’re only weak & fragile where you don’t train

Love y’all, stay strong 🖤

Everyone thinks they’re the main character 💀

I’m telling you, everyone there is focused so hard on themselves they could care less about what you do or how you look unless you’re going to hurt yourself. When you join a gym you become a person who goes to the gym. They’re no different then you.

Stay focused & get after it.
