EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IN PARTNERSHIP (2016-2018)

Dear Partner,
International consortium for children is pleased to launch the Expression of interest from national and international Organizations that would like to appeal for partnership with ICC in 2016 -2018
ICC is an Organization of partners committed to seeing a world where children are safe, free and cared for through shaping their future, advocating for their rights and sharing in development of their communities.

Purpose for this call.

Partnerships are at the heart of the ICC mandate. Partnerships with Civil Society Organizations, Non-Governmental organizations, Development Agencies, Foundations, community base organizations, Health and learning institutions play a vital role, particularly in implementing ICC-supported programmes. With a view to optimizing its partnerships to reach the most disadvantaged and excluded communities and to extend essential services, ICC is launching a new call for interest to identify and develop strategic partnership with organizations that will support government priorities. The process is intended to be fully transparent.

ICC funding is open to all the organizations that have subscribed to membership of the consortium in any developing country based on the World Bank's list of low-income and lower-middle income countries and all the countries affected by conflict and natural disasters

Organizations that wish to participate in this Call for Expression of Interest are requested to download the following forms from the website www.internationalconsortiumforchildren.org , fill in offline and send their submission electronically to [email protected] not later than Friday 21st Oct 2016 at 17.00 hrs

What are the adult health consequences of childhood Bullying


Still considered a rite of passage by some, research is now attempting to understand why victims of childhood bullying are at risk of poorer outcomes in adulthood, not only for psychological health, but also physical health, cognitive functioning and quality of life.

Though there is no universal definition of childhood bullying, the term is often used to describe when a child repeatedly and deliberately says or does things that causes distress to another child, or when a child attempts to force another child to do something against their will by using threats, violence or intimidation.

The US Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) quote studies that show the most common types of bullying are verbal and social:

Research shows that persistent bullying can cause depression and anxiety and contribute to suicidal behavior.

◾Teasing - 43.3%
◾Spreading rumors or lies - 36.3%
◾Pushing or shoving - 32.4%
◾Hitting, slapping or kicking - 29.2%
◾Leaving out - 28.5%
◾Threatening - 27.4%
◾Stealing belongings - 27.3%
◾Sexual comments or gestures - 23.7%
◾Email or blogging - 9.9%

Every child deserves a loving home. When you become a ICC Sponsor, you enable the orphaned and abandoned children to grow up in a safe and stable home with a loving family. You give children the chance to heal from the hurt of losing their parents and loved ones , and to become the people that they were meant to be.
