We just completed our Easter Outing. It is now time to kick back and relax. We spent alot of time saying goodbye to all the participants today. It is alot of work putting on these outings, but it sure is worth it when you see the new people out here enjoying themselves and learning from the more seasoned prospectors. We started off on Thursday at 7:00am signing people in. Friday began the common operation. We had a horseshoe tournament and then a karaoke party on Friday night. Saturday we began the common once again. We had seminars, and a treasure hunt, gold panning contest for kids and adults, and in the evening the potluck, bonfire, and company giveaways. Sunday we had a Sunrise Easter Service, and then the auction, raffles and gold split. We had 150 outing participants, and each one got a share of the gold. After the gold split we had our Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. We want to thank Wild Board Prospecting for donating a Javelina Trommel to the camp for use during the outing. We also want to thank New Age Mining Equipment, for not only participating in the dig, but bringing a trommel for the camp to use during the outing. Maybe some other manufacturers would be interested in donating equipment to the camp. We are always interested in accepting (hint, hint!!!!) We also had a celebrity in our midst. The Mayor of Wickenburg, Kelly Blunt, and his family participated in the outing. They told us they had a great time. We need to have more politicians come out and see what mining is all about. The summer is coming upon us. Our camp usually starts to empty out. We wish you all a happy and enjoyable summer. We look forward to seeing all outing participants in December, and our snowbird LDMA members starting in September.
