❄️Service Update as of 5pm Sunday❄️
Please know that we have actively been monitoring the weather in our county all weekend. Based on the latest updates from trusted local weather teams, county officials, and TXDOT, the guidance is consistent: stay warm, stay home, and stay safe. There have already been numerous vehicle accidents across the county, and road conditions are not expected to improve anytime soon.
Please know these decisions are never made lightly. They are made out of an abundance of caution and prayer for ALL things considered - our employees safely getting to and from work, protecting our equipment from severe cold damage, and ensuring our crews can reach your homes and return safely at the end of the day. While I have some awesome drivers, even the most experienced ones have no business operating roughly 50,000lbs on dangerous and unpredictable roadways. And yes, the crews on the back are beyond amazing and typically work in all types of weather conditions… they also have no business lifting on average 10+ tons of trash in below freezing temperatures.
After careful prayer and consideration of ALL factors, we will NOT BE RUNNING MONDAY (1/26/26).
There will NOT be a make-up day - we will see our Monday customers on your normal Thursday pick-up, weather permitting. Those of you with *only* a Monday collection (Clear Creek - I’m looking at you) please keep a close eye out for another update via email with further service information for this week.
As of right now, we do not feel comfortable making a solid decision for the rest of the week until the temperature actually starts to consistently rise all across the county.
If you are sharing into your neighborhood page - we thank you so much - but please make sure you’re sharing the original post and not just a screenshot in case there are updates/edits made.
If this information finds you uneasy and you disagree, I truly am not sorry. The safety of our crews is way more important to me than anyone else’s negative opinion. The safety of our trucks not being on the road to be an unnecessary hazard to those in the vehicle or around it is way more important to me than your trash sitting for an extra three days.
To those that are still reading and understand - I thank you in advance for your patience as we work to make the best decisions to keep everyone safe. We take our jobs seriously and we never take for granted that you choose our company as your waste collector.
Stay warm.
