Internet network status update (1/21/2025) - ALL GOOD NEWS! All towers are up and NO issues from snow. Now when the snow starts to melt and turn to ice that could become an issue! For now all normal operations!

As the winter storm approaches, remember to be safe with electricity, propane, and other flammable fuels. Safety is job one.

Remember also, these type of rare winter storms pose problems for internet wireless communications regardless of land or terrestrial based.

CAJTEX is ready with our battery backup and standby generators to weather the storm. But remember, if you don’t have electricity, don’t expect the internet to work. Also be patient as there could be intermittent issues due to snow and ice fall. If power is out for a prolonged period of time, we could experience service interruptions from our headend provider. This is something we cannot control should it happen. Just be advised.

The storm also may trigger northern lights as far south in the U.S. as the lower Midwest and Northern California, according to NOAA

UPDATE 7/14/24: All towers are fully operational. Our Big Buck Lake tower is now back to normal and fully operational.

CAJTEX will be hardening our system in the coming weeks and months to withstand future storms like Beryl. These upgrades and network hardening will require periodic internet outages. Please bear with us during these times.

STATUS UPDATE: All towers are now fully operational. However, Big Buck tower is operating at deduced capacity due to a dish misalignment due to the hurricane force winds we received. This tower also had power issues which has now been resolved. The tower is up but again it is at a reduced capacity. You will be able to surf the internet at slower speeds but may not be able to stream or have MS-TEAMS calls or other types of media that requires streaming. We are working to resolve the issue but at the mercy of obtaining a tower climber which due to Hurricane Beryl is in high demand. Please be patient as we work to resolve this issue.

It has been a trying 5 days since Hurricane Beryl hit our area. Although we had winds up to 80 mph, our towers stood tall and carried on as usual. Thanks to our battery backup systems and some generators after our backup batteries were depleted, CAJTEX was able to maintain our main tower on Blue Teal and our Holstein tower throughout the power outage. It was at a cost due to some power surges we experienced but we are delighted that 3 of our towers are back online and passing data as they should. Unfortunately our Big Buck Lake tower is still down. Our techs are investigating the issue and hope to have the issue/s resolved as soon as possible.

We trust those who have generators were able to keep informed of news and weather during and after the storm as well as in contact with love ones letting them know you and your family was doing ok.

Our goal is to harden our system to make it as reliable as possible so you can be kept informed of events via live streaming of your favorite news and weather cast.

If for some reason your internet service has not come back on, please try and power cycle your devices first. If it still does not come back, contact CAJTEX Tech Support via Texting at (218) 761-7919. Hours Tech Support is reachable are 8 am to 8 pm Monday thru Saturday, closed Sunday and all holidays.

Please NOTE we will have intermittent internet outages as we make repairs and replace equipment as soon as possible. Please be patient during the next few weeks even months as we make improvement and harden our system against future storms and power outages.

It’s been an eventful few days since Hurricane Beryl came through the Houston Conroe Cleveland Texas area. Seems Hurricane Beryl packed more of a punch that forecasters antipated. Unlike Hurricane Harvey which stayed on top of us for 4 days with torrential rains and flooding, Hurricane Beryl was more of a wind event for at least the CAJTEX area. The winds have caused wide spread power outages and damage to critical infrastructure to power transmission lines.

Thank goodness none of the CAJTEX towers we relie on to provide internet service to our customers was damage. At the height of the storm we saw wind gus up to 80 mph but all towers stood tall. Although we lost power our battery backup held tough. Only two of the four towers went down due to depleted batteries while our main Blue Teal and Holstein towers switched to generators and have been providing internet non-stop even after the power when out.

Hopefully power will be restored soon and life can get back to some kind of normalcy. Be safe out there. More to come later.
