Today, we’re honoring Jess’s pioneer, Marian Wright Edelman in celebration of her birthday, a visionary leader whose lifelong advocacy transformed the lives of countless children and families.

Marian showed the world that lasting change begins with conviction, compassion, and the courage to speak up for those whose voices are too often unheard. As the founder of the Children’s Defense Fund, she dedicated her career to advancing equity, opportunity, and justice, proving that true leadership is rooted in service to others.
