Seven students. Seven plain sweatshirts. Seven completely different hoodies. 🧵

That’s our Design Your Own Patchwork Hoodie class, and we’re all still smiling about it. Here are a few of our students and their creations (we missed a couple of you in the photo, but we can’t wait to see yours too!).

No two came out alike. One went with bold, bright prints. One worked pastel half-square triangles into her sleeves. One appliquéd a denim pup on the front, and yes, everyone asked about him 🐶. And one was having so much fun she’s still at the machine, piecing woodland critters for her next one.

That’s our favorite part of teaching: everyone starts with the same blank sweatshirt, and everyone’s personality comes through.

We don’t have another one on the calendar yet, so help us plan it. A quilted jacket? A patchwork tote? Something we haven’t thought of? Tell us in the comments and we’ll build the next class around what you want. 👇

Join us on Thursday, October 15 & Friday, October 16 from 10:30 AM–3:00 PM for a special two-day class with guest instructor Faye Burnham! 🧵❤️
You’ll learn raw-edge machine appliqué while creating Around the Holly by Jenice Belling of Quilted Garden Designs — a beautiful 32" holly-and-berry round that can become either a Christmas table topper or a tree skirt. You choose!

Faye will walk you through the appli-quilt technique, where your appliqué stitching and quilting happen in the same pass.

You’ll learn how to:✨ Prepare and position your shapes✨ Layer holly and berries in the right order✨ Handle curves and points with confidence✨ Choose thread and stitch settings for your desired look✨ Finish the outer edge of a round piece
No appliqué experience needed! This class is perfect for confident beginners who are comfortable using their sewing machine and sewing a straight seam.
