If youāre like me 2ļøā£0ļøā£2ļøā£5ļøā£ took you up through there 𤣠Trust me! I know! It has definitely been a year that either elevated you or evaporated you!!! I learned soooo many lessons.
Hereās what I learnedā¦
1ļøā£Survival Requires Adaptability, Not Perfection
This year taught me that running a restaurant isnāt about everything going as plannedāitās about how fast you adjust when it doesnāt. Supply issues, staffing challenges, rising costs, and unexpected setbacks forced me to pivot constantly. I learned that flexibility is a leadership skill, and adaptability is what keeps the doors open when conditions change.
2ļøā£Cash Flow Is OxygenāYou Must Protect It Ruthlessly
Passion built the vision, but cash flow sustains the business. I learned that even profitable days donāt guarantee stability if money isnāt managed intentionally. Monitoring expenses, negotiating terms, planning for slow seasons, and preparing for emergencies isnāt optionalāitās survival. This lesson made me a stronger, more disciplined operator.
3ļøā£Strategy beats hustle. Moving with a plan saved me more than moving fast. Clear goals, planning ahead, and making intentional decisions matter more than grinding without direction.
4ļøā£You Canāt Carry the Business Alone
This year humbled me in the best way. I learned that asking for help, building the right team, and setting boundaries doesnāt make me weakāit makes the business stronger. Delegation, partnerships, and support systems are essential. A burned-out owner canāt lead a growing brand.
