Good morning ☀️
Hope you woke up feeling good today (or at least pretending you got 8 hours of sleep 😅).
I made this video because I was out on a hike recently and it hit me: so much in life comes down to making a decision.
Back in May, I went to see my doctor because I was dealing with low energy, fuzzy brain, and my eyesight pulling some cruel magic tricks on me.
He looked at me and said the word no one wants to hear:
Diabetes.
Now, I didn’t fight him on it.
Honestly, it made sense.
My body had been sending me signals all year long like a car dashboard lighting up—but I was ignoring the check engine light.
He ordered blood work.
I drove straight to the lab and on that 30-minute drive, I made a decision:
🚫 No more sugar.
🏃 More exercise.
When the results came back, let’s just say… they were ugly.
• Glucose: 279
• A1C: 12 (that’s not a score you want to brag about)
The doctor pulled out the starter pack:
Metformin.
But here’s the thing…
Type 2 diabetes is progressive.
If you don’t deal with why it’s happening, you just end up needing more meds until your quality of life nosedives.
That did not sound like me.
I like hiking. 🥾
I like freedom. 🦅
I like living life without feeling sick. 😏
So I told him: “Thanks, doc, but I’m going to try food as my medicine first.”
(I could tell he was mentally betting I’d be back in 3 months asking for the pills.)
Instead, I found a functional medicine doctor in California who has helped a lot of people actually reverse diabetes.
Not cheap, but after 35 years of running businesses, I know how to weigh risk vs reward.
Fast forward ⏩ three months later…
• A1C: 5.7 (from 12!)
• Fasting glucose: 89 (from 279!)
All because I made a decision.
And here’s the lesson I’m taking back to business and life:
Indecision keeps you stuck.
It’s scary to commit sometimes, but once you do—you give yourself something to move toward.
I’m not at the finish line yet.
I committed to 9–12 months of sticking to my program, and I’m only 8 weeks in.
But now I’ve got new goals, because the real vision is bigger:
I want to be able to travel the world and enjoy the food without worrying about diabetes tagging along.
So I’ll keep at it:
Clean diet, gallons of water, 5 workouts a week, and my supplements.
Honestly, small price for a big future.
👉 Now let me flip it back to you:
Is there something you’ve been putting off?
Something you know would change your health, your business, your life?
Maybe today’s the day to make that decision.
