- Exciting Changes Ahead at Cool Saddleworks
After much thought and careful consideration, we’ve made a decision that marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Cool Saddleworks. We’re announcing that we’ll be closing our retail store at 2968 State Highway 49 in Cool, CA, effective March 15, 2025.
But don’t worry—this isn’t goodbye! While we’ll be saying farewell to our retail storefront, we’re not going anywhere. We’re simply shifting gears and returning to the heart of what we love most: creating custom leather goods and offering expert saddle and tack repair services.
- Why the Change?
The decision to close the retail store comes down to two key factors that are driving us toward this next stage:
1. Returning to Our Roots�
Over the years, we’ve found that our true passion lies in the art of custom leatherwork and saddle repair. As much as we’ve enjoyed serving you from our retail store, it’s time for us to refocus on what we do best: handcrafting high-quality leather goods and offering top-notch saddle repairs.
2. Financial Efficiency�
Running a retail store comes with significant overhead costs, and with the rising demands of our core work, we’ve realized that operating in a more streamlined space will help us serve you better. Our new location—just five minutes away from the current store—sits on our farm in the Cherry Acres Road development in Cool. This move allows us to operate in a way that’s more efficient and cost-effective, without the burden of maintaining a storefront.
- What Does This Mean for Cool Saddleworks?
We may be closing our retail doors, but Cool Saddleworks is here to stay! We’ll continue operating out of our farm shop, where we’ll be focusing on creating custom leather products, repairing saddles, and providing the same high-quality services you’ve come to rely on.
