For years, Tim thought back pain was simply something he had to live with. After decades of discomfort and worsening symptoms, he finally found an answer: an old spinal fracture that had likely gone undiagnosed for years.

Our cardiovascular team had a wonderful time at Lakeview Clinic, Ltd. Clinic's Community Open House on September 17, connecting with neighbors, sharing information about heart care services and celebrating the partnerships that help keep our communities healthy.

Volunteer experiences can open doors—and sometimes spark a calling.

Mohammed, who volunteered in the Mercy Hospital emergency department from 2022 to 2023, recently shared that his volunteer experience inspired his interest in emergency medicine and helped him pursue roles as a patient care assistant, scribe and clinical research assistant. Now accepted to medical school, he hopes to become an emergency physician—and may even return to Mercy Hospital for future clinical rotations.

Our annual Heart to Heart Community Event was once again a huge success!

Hosted by Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute at the Plymouth Community Center, more than 100 individuals gathered to learn more about cholesterol and women’s heart health from Dr. Michael Miedema and Dr. Retu Saxena. Attendees were also able to enjoy interactive exhibits and had an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the free event.

We look forward to planning the event again next year!
