Asking for a discount and paying with your card.

What would the small business owner think?

DID YOU KNOW….

That when you are paying with a debit/credit card, the merchant processor (the company that supplies the machine to accept these payments) are charging a fee?

Often times it’s a percentage of the total sales. Sometimes it’s a flat amount. And other times it’s a combination of both.

READ THAT AGAIN.

Have you ever wondered why your credit card company provide you with a REWARD, CASHBACK, or other incentives just by using your card?

The short answer is: these major players are making money from small/large businesses each time you swipe that card for payment. It’s how Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and AMEX makes money.

Large companies are able to negotiate a very good contract due to volume. Small businesses get the back burners. Literally.

Additionally, payments are rarely instant unless we pay a fee.

For most — credit/debit card transactions post to a business account on Day #3. That means if you purchased our products on Sunday and use a credit card as the form of payment, business entities don’t actually see the money until WEDNESDAY. Crazy huh?

So the next time you go shopping, consider helping out your local businesses by paying in cash. You’d be helping to reduce our credit card processing fees, therefore lowering an expense. It really helps to keep prices more competitive.

Shops eat up the costs. They don’t pass on the surcharge to you. We appreciate card/cash transactions but figured…the more you know!!!

Tried out breakfast, got the Earnie at Copperas Cove's newest restaurant Herb & Earnie's on opening day!

Though this does not come with Arugula Salad, it was quaint and filling. Best of luck to yall!
