It’s not a toxic culture it’s an abusive culture, let’s call it what it is.

Authentic is for objects that do not change no matter the length of time, not humans, humans are changing every day. As living organisms we evolve and have evolved

So instead of bringing your authentic self to work. Try bringing your evolved self.

I saw this outfit and fell in love with it. So I went in my closet hoping to find the colors to recreate it...

No luck! So I asked my myself what about this look I like?

I like that she decided not to play it safe with color blocking two or three colors, but five. I also liked that she chose bright colors.

So I went to my closet and realized I have five bright colors, although different and decided to recreate the look using what I have. While being inspired by what she did.

Companies, are trying to recreate the cultures of other companies that inspire them, while neglecting that they do not have what is needed to build that culture.

Be inspired and then go into your company see what you have and create your own.

So many company cultures suffer from NOT addressing conflicts in the workplace.

Here’s a few reasons why.....

➡️ 1. When conflicts arise managers and employees avoid it.
➡️ 2. The parties are more concerned about being right VS being understood.
➡️ 3. HR gets pulled into people conflict that doesn’t involve violation of any company policy, which escalates the conflict.
➡️4. Biases around the people in the conflict may create inaction or overreaction.

Conflict management and resolution is paramount in any good company culture.

There is a beauty in strong belief, but strong belief doesn’t always allow new EVIDENCE to introduced.

Many people in the workplace bring their strong beliefs which colors their POV and entrenches their bias.

Most cultures aren’t clearly defined based on acceptable behaviors and I think I know why...

To define your culture based on acceptable behaviors means you are binding yourself to that standard company wide..

That is until your favorite manager, leader or employee violates those behaviors.

On this Friday; I thought I would share this article around creating psychological safety in the workplace.

We need to work together to create these "safe spaces" for one another to be able to be vulnerable, human and ourselves, because building these spaces and relationships in the workplace will create an amazing opportunity for everyone to contribute and be seen, heard, supported and valued and that will improve the overall team member experience and therefore customer/patient experience.
