There will be another statement to share from the Arkansas Division of Agriculture, Forestry about the postponement of the Fire Show.

“Due to the intense wildfire dangers Arkansas is currently facing, our agency has decided to postpone the 2026 Rural Fire Show to a future date (TBD). By postponing this event we hope it will improve firefighter attendance at the Show, as well as lessen the dangers our communities would face at this time.”

Stay informed and updated, hopefully we will hear and see improvements in the state with these conditions.

UACCB is proud to partner with the White River Firefighter Training Association, the Arkansas Fire Training Academy, and area fire departments to launch Firefighter Rookie School this fall!

📆 Starting October 6, the 38-week program will provide training in Firefighter I & II, preparing the next generation of firefighters with hands-on experience, expert instruction, and the skills needed to serve their communities.

Even better? Eligible students can use the Arkansas Workforce Challenge scholarship to cover the full cost of the program. 🔥

With 17 area fire departments coming together to provide equipment, vehicles, instructors, and support, this is community partnership in action. 🚒🫶

A Friend To The Fire Service

Today, the fire service joins millions around the world in remembering Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s connection to firefighters went far beyond words.

Following the devastating 2016 Great Smoky Mountains wildfires, she stepped forward to help the communities she loved. Through her My People Fund, millions of dollars went directly to families who had lost their homes.

But she didn’t forget the firefighters who answered the call.

Dolly later donated $200,000 to eight volunteer fire departments and a regional firefighter training center in Sevier County, helping provide equipment, station improvements, and training opportunities for those who protect their communities.

During the wildfires, Dollywood also helped feed and house firefighters and first responders working the disaster.

Dolly once said it was only fitting that the last of the My People Fund go to “those who were the first to respond to the fires.”

That says a lot about who she was.

Today, we mourn more than an entertainer. We remember a kind heart, a generous soul, and a true friend to firefighters and the communities we serve.

She never wore our uniform, but she understood service, community, and taking care of the people who take care of others.

Rest easy, Dolly. The fire service won’t forget you.
