As most of you know my husband Johnny Poole passed away. I don’t even know what to say at this time. BELMONT, MS – Johnny Dean Poole, 60, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Red Bay, AL to Kenneth Coy Poole and Floie Mae Slayton Poole and was an auctioneer for thirty-five years. He was a faithful member of Forrest Grove Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A celebration of life service will be Friday, August 15, 1 p.m. at Forrest Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Payne, Bro. Robert Wood and Kelvin Hammock officiating. Visitation will begin Thursday, August 14, at 6 p.m. at Forrest Grove Baptist Church until service time on Friday. Burial will be in Forrest Grove Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie Poole; sons, Brian Speers (Chelsey), Dextar Ashley (April), Andrew Ashley (Heather) and Alex Ashley (Danielle); nine grandbabies; brothers and sisters, Sharon Smith (Billy), Janie Congdon (Michael), Jennifer Fair (Donald), Kenny Poole (Kary) and Amanda Bridges (Scott); several nieces and nephews and fur baby, Sadie May.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Nellie Poole.
Pallbearers will be Brady Hammock, Nathan Bridges, Marlin Hutcheson, Noah Enlow, Levi Newman and Cody Congdon. Honorary pallbearers will be his auction friends. Please pray for us during this time and the days to come
