Prom season has always been my favorite since I started at Illusions Hair design.

There’s something so magical about being apart of their special day, knowing that they are going to have the best night of their highschool lives hopefully.

Last year, due to the pandemic, it was cruelly taken away from us, but this year, this year, I had this beauty.

It may seem silly, but after last year, just being able to do one updo seems like a blessing to me.

Happy transformation Tuesday beauties!!!

Some colors require multiple sessions to be had before they can be achieved, silver is one of those colors.

In order to achieve a perfect silver/grey tone, the hair needs to be pre lightened to the color of the inside of a banana. It can often take multiple sessions to get there as the integrity of the hair is more important to me then the tone.

This beauty only needed two sessions to achieve the tone she was looking for. Using the BlackLight lightener she lifted evenly and quickly, with no damage to hair. We followed her lightening service by toning her with moonstone and silver rapid toners.

To maintain her color at home she purchased the Glossme duo for moisture and shine as her hair’a texture is coarse, and naturally dry. To maintain tone she also purchased Pulp Riots’ Barcelona toning shampoo.

Happy Thursday beauties!!!!

Memorial Day weekend is here!!!! When I was younger, we used to camp, so it was the official start to our summer adventures.

But how do we protect our hair during the summer? If you are like me, then you spend as much time as possible outside to makeup for hibernating all winter.

Below, I’ve complied some of my favorite summer hair tips. Check them out!

• Use a UV protection spray, I always recommend the PowerDryMe for to all my clients, even if they don’t blow dry. Why? It offers UV protection as well as heat protection. Just a couple spritz and your done.

• Wear a hat, bandana, scarf, etc. to create a physical barrier from the sun to prevent your color from changing.

• Before going swimming, put in a a conditioning mask, it will help create a barrier, and can help preserve your color while swimming.

• Always make sure you are using color safe shampoo and conditioner at home. My favorites are GlossMe duo or PuffMe duo.

Happy Tuesday beauties!!!

It’s been such a crazy weekend, and I have some exciting news for you all!!

Over the weekend I had the great honor to be able to take the Bellami master class in extensions!! It was such an amazing, and interesting two days, and I learned a lot.

Bellami is L’Oréal certified in the industry, which means, they ethically source the hair, their sources are compensated, the workers in the factories are treated well, and the factories are clean, and kept at high standards. Their hair is 100% Remy hair, with the cuticle 100% intact, and it comes in a variety of beautiful colors, and color combos.

What this means for you: I will be looking for 1-3 models, you must pay for the cost of the hair, you must pay a lowered installation fee, and be willing to keep up on the maintenance of the extensions. All of these things we would speak about during a consultation.

I am so excited to be able to offer these new services to my clients as extensions are something that I have always wanted to learn, and I look forward to continuing this journey.
