35+ Years of Online History 💻

The web has come a long way in 35 years since the first website went live.

On this day in 1991, CERN published the first website, a project page for the World Wide Web. It was a basic page with one font, no images, and a handful of blue hyperlinks. From there, websites grew into full multimedia experiences with photos, animations, video embeds, and eventually the mobile-first designs we scroll through today.

Now AI assistants are changing how we navigate the web entirely, surfacing answers before we even click a link.

The web isn't going anywhere. It just keeps getting harder to remember what it looked like before.

Planned Maintenance Notice:

Clay County Connect customers in the O'Kean, Delaplaine and Peach Orchard areas will experience a planned service outage on Thursday, July 16, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The planned outage is necessary while our crews replace poles that were blown down during a recent storm. Customers in the affected area should have already received a text message with the information.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete these necessary repairs to keep our network reliable. Thank you for choosing your LOCAL broadband service!
