4 weeks from start to finish, this Magee kitchener was probably better off for parts, but the owners wanted it restored.

Don't mind the dingy corner of my shop, it's too heavy to move to the showroom for pictures.

Originally came from a convent in Springfield MA I the 1940s and was brought to Vermont to spend the next 60+ years in the corner.
Mice had moved into the flues and their nests rotted the sheet iron ovens, new ones were fabricated, and nearly every panel was broken requiring 14 FEET of welding! (Yes I measured them all)
Fortunately the grates were still in serviceable condition, the firebox is massive as well requiring a box and half of plastic refractory (75 lbs) I placed a 8" lid inside for prospective.
The ovens are narrow but deep measuring at 13x21.

For anyone thinking of buying something like this keep on mind, every single part is model specific and any missing or broken pieces are extremely hard to find. They are extremely heavy, and double ovens double the price of restoration!

This job has finally come to an end after 3 weeks straight.

This stove was brought to us my a customer who bought it from another stove shop in the 1980s, it was covered In Grease and had been converted from wood/coal to a gas log in the fire box and was missing some vital parts which needed to be fabricated to be used again.

It is now set up for wood and propane, 4 cooktop burners and gas upper ovens with piloted thermocouples, new panels in the gas ovens.

Yesterday I got 3 phone calls about a stove on the side of the road so, I grabbed the dog and my truck and headed a few towns over in VT and picked up a pretty nice special edition 50th anniversary Crawford Jubilee 8-20.
These are a little bit of a mutt, half Fairy half Victor Countess (both made by walker and pratt) this old girl will make a fine addition to someone's kitchen who wants a stove a little different from the average Crawford.

Last week we sold this perfect Fairy Crawford for a northen vermont off grid cabin, and the new owner mentioned how nice it would be to have a gas side for it.
Just so happened I had one from my own camp that I was no longer using, so today I tore it apart and refreshened it, polishing the nickel, re painting the entire thing and cleaning and re greasing the valves.
Typically a broiler would hang from the bottom of these but this one does not have the provisions to mount one, it appears to have been ordered without it

I dont do gas stoves but bought this one for my home but the right hand ovens wouldn't work, so I'm offering it for sale.
Glenwood insulated deluxe in mint and cream, with roll top warming oven.
Set up for propane, match light cooktop, pilot oven.
This was restored by another company roughly 10 years ago and was very lightly used, we have taken most of it apart, cleaned/blasted and painted what was needed to be new again.

Yesterday we delivered a stove clear on the other side of the state of NH and as a habit I try to pick up something while I'm that far away from home.
I have had a great year so far picking some harder to find pieces and one of yesterday's picks is no exception.
After delivering the Glenwood home grand to sandwich NH I got a tip on a early stove that was a carcass about 45 min away, so I made and call and headed to the second location.
Upon arrival I find under a tarp a Good Luck range which the model isn't particularly hard to find, being made in dover NH up until the the 1940s, however this one is pre 1900 and possibly early 1890s and under the surface rust is in perfect condition and has been lightly used its whole life.
It retains the original water front, firebrick and plain coal grate in the firebox along with its original ash pan, also included was both of the original end shelves (this stove had no mantle, not even drilled for one) one shelf for the rear of the cooktop and one for the side, oven shelf and the oven rack. I found this 20 miles from where it was made.

I then made a quick jump over the border tk maine and picked up an unwanted Glenwood #6 baseheater, again in great condition with most consumable parts already replaced.

Just out of the shop, and available for immediate purchase we have a Fairy Crawford 8-20, this is a smaller range which still sports a 20" oven, it is set up with a wood grate and refractory liners.

As with all our restored stoves, it was completely dismantled, sandblasted and painted with thermolux high temp satin black paint, re assembled with new hardware and with cement in all the joints, new ash pan and nickel plating.

$3000

One bonus to owning over 300 stoves is, at the drop of a hat I can change one out!

Last week we drove to south wester CT and picked up a 1890 Ish Glenwood B thay had been bastardized and turned into an electric ornament, I bought it for the super hard to find warming oven mantle and all the perfect nickel pieces.

Once home I dismantled the B keeping only the outside pieces for future restorations, and threw the cut up cooktop, electric burners and stainless oven box in the scrap.

Tuesday morning I did some stove trading with the Antique Stove Hospital and acquired 2 carcasses of first model Glenwood E body's, I blasted the best of all the parts from the 2 while I was there, yesterday I spent the day painting the 3 other stoves I had brought down to blast and as I came across the parts for the E, I assembled it throughout the day as I waited for the paint to dry on other parts.
A 6pm I decided at the last minute to play musical stoves and my son and I removed one E and replaced it with another.

I think these early Glenwood ranges are gorgeous, plain, yet fancy, with crisp lines and just enough nickel.

Fresh from restoration, Glenwood Hickory #15.
This is the mid size oak in this line up.
As always this underwent a full tear down, sandblasted all parts, painted with thermolux high temp satin black paint, new plastic refractory liner, new 16g barrel, all trimmings have new nickel plating, new mica in the windows and a new ash pan.
This stove has a draw center grate system and can burn both wood and coal with ease and is ready to heat your home.

$3100

This is available for immediate purchase and can be seen by appointment at LaPans antique stoves located in Cornish NH

Just finished this rare Glenwood cabinet S for a customer in Southern Vermont.
They needed a cookstove with a very small foot print, these are basically a Sunny Glenwood without the ash pit on the side, the ashpit and pan are under the firebox, and typically this would be setting directly on the floor but at some point in its life someone added 4" legs to the bottom and the new owners liked the added height.
This particular range is set up for wood use and even with its small size can still accommodate a 22" log!
