4 weeks from start to finish, this Magee kitchener was probably better off for parts, but the owners wanted it restored.
Don't mind the dingy corner of my shop, it's too heavy to move to the showroom for pictures.
Originally came from a convent in Springfield MA I the 1940s and was brought to Vermont to spend the next 60+ years in the corner.
Mice had moved into the flues and their nests rotted the sheet iron ovens, new ones were fabricated, and nearly every panel was broken requiring 14 FEET of welding! (Yes I measured them all)
Fortunately the grates were still in serviceable condition, the firebox is massive as well requiring a box and half of plastic refractory (75 lbs) I placed a 8" lid inside for prospective.
The ovens are narrow but deep measuring at 13x21.
For anyone thinking of buying something like this keep on mind, every single part is model specific and any missing or broken pieces are extremely hard to find. They are extremely heavy, and double ovens double the price of restoration!
