🌲 Google Earth caught us in action! 🌳

These updated satellite maps are already showing our Fall 2025 harvest, and it’s wild how fast the imagery reflects the work on the ground.

This job was a first‑stage shelterwood Red Oak harvest, taking about 50% of the overstory to get sunlight on the forest floor and kickstart that next cohort of regeneration. Exactly the kind of stewardship‑focused work we love doing.

And look closely… you can even spot our slasher operator, Jesse, right in the yard doing what he does best. Still can’t find Lincoln in the Buncher- can you?

📸 Three photos from a very recent harvest—caught from space. Pretty cool to see forestry show up this clearly.

Drop your guess in the comments — they’re all taking a rest until morning!🚜

We’re winding down a few jobs as spring conditions start to show up. If you’ve got a project you’d like us to look at for summer or fall, now’s a great time to reach out. We’re happy to walk your woodlot and talk through options that fit your goals. 207-625-8285! 🌲🌳

🚜We just finished opening up the landing for a harvest in S**o. A good landing sets the tone for the whole job—it’s where trees come in, get processed, sorted, chipped, and loaded out. With trucks cycling through all day, the layout and footing matter for both safety and steady production.

🌲We’ve got it frozen down, stumps pulled and the entrance graveled so trucks and equipment can move around safely. With a solid landing in place, we’re ready to run steady and efficient.

This lot is a 90 acre beauty, and we’re excited to get rolling.

🌲We cannot lie — we like big butts.
And this landowner grew theirs to perfection.

These pines in Tamworth, NH were managed right and grown out to an optimum size, making for a clean, high‑value harvest. Always satisfying to see good stewardship pay off.

🦌 A Great Day in the Woods 🌲

Congratulations to Justin Libby on harvesting a beautiful deer! Pictured here with Devan and Uncle Edward Libby, with the Skidder standing tall in the background, it’s a reminder of what makes our work and our way of life so special.

At Robert W. Libby Logging, we believe loggers are environmentalists in the truest sense. Caring for the land isn’t just part of the job—it’s part of who we are. We want opportunities like this not only for ourselves, but for our children and generations to come.

That’s why we open all of our timberlands to the public. Whether it’s hunting, hiking, or simply enjoying the beauty of Maine’s forests, we’re proud to share the land we steward.

Family, forestry, and a deep respect for the woods—that’s the Libby way. 🌲🦌

🌲BMPs in Motion: Protecting Wet Areas 🚜

Here’s our skidder hauling slash back into the woods. At Robert W. Libby we run both whole‑tree and Cut-to Length operations. This video is from a whole tree operation——meaning the entire tree comes out to the landing. Most hardwood tops are chipped for bioenergy markets, but some slash has another job: reinforcing sensitive areas along skidtrails.

By laying slash in these areas, we protect water quality, stabilize the trail, and keep equipment from rutting the ground. It’s a straightforward Best Management Practice (BMP) that makes a big difference for long‑term forest health.

This clip is from our own ground in Denmark, but we treat every landowner’s property with the same care as our own.

🌲 Meet William Collomy— one of our top-notch forwarder operators and a cornerstone of the Robert W. Libby Logging CTL crew. The other day, William brought his son out to the job site, and it was a moment that reminded us why we do what we do. Family, hard work, and passing down the craft — that’s what it’s all about.

At Robert W. Libby Logging, we’re proud to be a family-run, family-friendly business. We take deep pride in our work and are endlessly grateful for the incredible team that makes it all happen. From the woods to the workshop, it’s the people who make this place special.

Thanks for all you do, William — and here’s to the next generation of loggers! 💪🌲
