🌲Robert W. Libby and Sons – Logger of the Year🌳
We’re thrilled to announce that Robert W. Libby and Sons has been named Outstanding Logging Business for 2026 by the Maine Forest Products Council! The awards banquet will take place September 13th in Millinocket.
This honor truly belongs to the dedicated employees and their families who have given so much over the years. Their hard work, skill, and commitment are what made this possible.
As we celebrate our 48th year, Bob’s steady leadership has guided us every step of the way. Looking ahead to the next 48, we’re glad to have Devan and family at the helm.
Thank you to every one of you!

🌲It’s dusty and dry right now—great conditions for logging (except for blowing out the air filters every day). We’re working away on this tremendous pine lot and the weather is cooperating.
The residual stand has plenty of light, lots of exposed mineral soil, and pine cones everywhere. We’re hopeful for a good catch of pine regeneration. Enjoy the sounds of the log landing! 🌳

We’re on a nice pine lot in Buxton. Some of these trees are over 120 feet tall (all are over 100 ft.) and range from 125–200 years old. Most are 18–32 inches on the butt. The volume on this 45-acre block is off the charts. It’s definitely time for a harvest.
The crew is doing an excellent job working this high-volume stand, and the landowner is excited to get the project underway.
Thanks to Ted Wright Forest Services LLC for getting us involved — we appreciate the work!

🌳It’s always exciting to get started on a job! The forester we work with has this property ready to rock and roll — there’s gonna be a healthy diet of red oak and pine logs along with lots of firewood on 30 acres of mature wood. The other 50 acres is young hardwoods from a heavy early 1990s harvest. This area is going to be an early commercial thinning, cutting firewood and pulp from the plentiful 6” red oak growing stock. This will make the forest more resilient and healthy. The landowners timber values will increase exponentially over time from this work!
Let’s go! 🇺🇸

🌲 When it comes to getting the absolute most value from your woodland, it all comes down to one thing: every single cut matters.
That’s why Jesse — our incredible slasher/crane operator — is the key to maximizing landowner value.
Jesse doesn’t just move wood. He thinks about every log. The right cut at the right place determines whether that tree becomes high-value sawlogs, pulp, or other products — and those decisions directly impact what you get paid.
When you work with Robert W. Libby, you get Jesse’s expertise on every job. His precision and attention to detail mean you’re squeezing every dollar possible out of your timber.
And it doesn’t stop there — Jesse is also incredibly efficient. He keeps the landing running smooth, the trucks loading fast, and the whole operation moving without delays.
If you want top-dollar for your wood and a professional crew that truly cares about your bottom line, give us a call.

🌲 Google Earth caught us in action! 🌳

These updated satellite maps are already showing our Fall 2025 harvest, and it’s wild how fast the imagery reflects the work on the ground.

This job was a first‑stage shelterwood Red Oak harvest, taking about 50% of the overstory to get sunlight on the forest floor and kickstart that next cohort of regeneration. Exactly the kind of stewardship‑focused work we love doing.

And look closely… you can even spot our slasher operator, Jesse, right in the yard doing what he does best. Still can’t find Lincoln in the Buncher- can you?

📸 Three photos from a very recent harvest—caught from space. Pretty cool to see forestry show up this clearly.
