Last week, the FBI released their Active Shooter Incidents in the U.S. Report for 2025. According to the report, the total number of AS Events in 2025 was 36, which, unfortunately, represents a 50% increase over the number of events in 2024 (24 AS Events). While the 50% increase appears staggering (and acknowledging that all AS Events are horrible), the 36 events in 2025 are still below the previous 5-year (2020-2024) average of 44 events a year.
