When seconds matter, teamwork matters.
Yesterday, members of Coronado Firefighters Local 1475 responded to assist with the transfer of a patient requiring rapid transport to a higher level of specialized care. After the patient was stabilized by the outstanding emergency department staff at Sharp Coronado Hospital, an air medical helicopter was requested to help ensure the patient reached definitive care as quickly and safely as possible.
Responses like these are a testament to the seamless coordination between hospital staff, firefighter-paramedics, dispatchers, law enforcement, and our air medical partners. Every member of the team plays a vital role, and it is this collaboration that helps deliver the highest level of care when every second counts.
