NOTICE TO APPLICANTS
The City of Cumberland will be accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Streets and Public Properties within the Department of Public Works.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Superintendent assists in the planning and direction of routine and emergency operation and maintenance and repair of the City’s infrastructure systems including streets, signs, traffic control, fleet, grounds and urban forest.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering or related discipline preferred, but will accept a minimum of five years of construction and maintenance with three years in a supervisory position.

CLASS SUMMARY: Performs responsible supervisory and administrative work in directing the operations of the Street Department. Under general supervision, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all City roads, streets, alleys, parks and public properties. (Please refer to the Job description on the City’s website for more detailed information.)

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience. Includes generous benefits package including annual sick and vacation leave, health care plan, and participation in the Maryland State Retirement System.
