Thanks to everyone who liked my business page. But it's time to retire this unused puppy and get one more FB friend off your list. When I figure out how to close it I will. In the meantime, feel free to unfriend me here since I don't use it.

New "Partner" at Montezuma County Partners
There’s a New Partner in Town!
Montezuma County Partners (MCP) has announced that Carol Rhan, of Carol Rhan Consulting, LLC, has been appointed as the interim Executive Director for the agency. According to Dena Guttridge, President of the Montezuma County Board of Directors, Carol will be “taking the reins” to help Partners maintain its outstanding service to the youth of Montezuma County as well as initiating changes that make the agency more efficient with respect to staffing and finances. Carol will also be working with the Board of Directors on strategic planning and development.
“I am thrilled to part of a mature not-for profit agency that does so much for the young people in our community,” Carol says. “I’ve been very impressed with the dedication of the staff, high level of respect for Montezuma County Partners (MCP) from the community and the outcomes of our various programs.” Ms. Guttridge added that Montezuma County Partners is part of the prevention continuum of care and service to at-risk youth and those on probation.
In addition to its successful Partners Mentoring program the other programs at MCP are help for homeless and runaway youth, diversion programs from the juvenile court system, tutoring for youth returning from detention, supervision of youth on probation, and community service opportunities.
Finally, Carol wants everyone to know that there are rewarding volunteer opportunities with MCP, from mentoring and chaperoning to board membership and administrative support. We welcome visitors. Creating a Personal Vision – A Recipe for Reinvention

(First in a series of three articles on this topic)

Have you ever had the opportunity to reinvent yourself? You changed jobs or got married or moved to a new city. Maybe you joined the military or got out of the military. Perhaps you’re an empty nester or just graduated from college. Whatever the circumstance, there was an opportunity to put yourself in a “new place.” Creating a personal vision statement is one of the first steps you can take on your personal road to reinvention.

According to Robert Steven Kaplan in his book, What to Ask the Person in the Mirror, a vision is “a clear articulation of what you would like your enterprise to be if you succeed.” I would add that you are the enterprise when developing your personal vision. Vision statements are all about your personal values and what’s important to you, at that time and place. They differ from simple goals in this way. They should be dynamic and reviewed periodically, but that’s a later article. Right now, I want to talk about creating your first one.

The first step in vision development is to focus on your core values. This can be a very hard task to accomplish. It requires introspection, defining common values related words and quiet time. Then refine your list to only three or four values. Consider previous successes and identify what values helped you in that endeavor. If you’re stuck on this, ask friends, family or co-workers to identify what they see as your values. You may be surprised!
