Today is more than a long weekend.
It’s a day to remember the heroes who never made it home.

As we spend time with family, fire up grills, travel, and enjoy the beauty of our community, may we also pause to honor the sacrifice that made those moments possible.

From the Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce family, we remember and thank those who gave everything for our country.

Your water may be a little murky this week due to fire hydrant tests. Run your water for several minutes to flush.

Public Works water maintenance will conduct hydrant testing beginning Monday, May 18, continuing throughout the following week. This essential operation ensures our hydrants meet the flow and pressure requirements of the local fire department across 25 locations citywide.
During flushing, minerals may be disturbed within the lines, causing temporary water turbidity. If affected, simply run your cold water tap until the water clears. We appreciate the public's patience during this time.
