Paint and Stain recycling. Since beginning the PaintCare program, we have recycled 4671 gallons of Paint! Do you have paints and stains to get rid of? We can take any latex or oil-based paints and stains in any size container up to 5 gallons. Keep in mind - ONLY LATEX OR OIL BASED PAINTS AND STAINS. There must be a liquid in the can. If contents are hardened or can is empty, they must be discarded in the trash. They are NOT recyclable.

PLEASE - Do NOT put your recyclables in plastic bags. Put them in your bins loose. Plastic bags are not recyclable and could cause an entire load of material to be rejected by the processor - and increasing your costs. Please call with ANY questions regarding recycling. 607-753-5191

I guess it's time for some reminders - Bubble wrap, sheet plastics, and Styrofoam materials are NOT RECYCLABLE. These items go in your regular trash. Remember , over-contamination in the recycling stream can end up costing us all more in increased fees. We encourage phone calls or messages for guidance regarding recycling. 607-592-5101

SPRING IS HERE! Please be aware of current recycling guidelines. PLASTICS - ONLY plastics that contain the chasing arrow symbol with the numbers 1, 2, or 5 inside are recyclable. With lawn clean ups and beautification happening now, we are seeing large amounts of mulch bags and other types of plastic bags. These are NOT RECYCLABLE. Also, everyone is planting flowers soon. Please check all disposable pots and containers before placing in your bin, many of these are not recyclable. If you are unsure of what is recyclable, please call us directly at 607-753-5191. We are more than happy to guide you.

This event is open to Cortland County Residents ONLY and material from commercial entities cannot be accepted. We can only accept items shown on the attached list.
