We'll just write a grant for that . . .

So your organization writes a grant and does not get awarded the grant--what do you do? What went wrong? How could that have gone better?

Here are some questions your organization might want to ask itself:

Did we remember our purpose?
Did we remember who we are?
Did we remember where we are?
Did we do any research to learn if the funder actually funds the type of request we made?
Was our request specific?
Do any of us, or anyone we have a relationship with, have a relationship with the funder?
Does this funder have an agenda, and our request did not fit?

This list is not exhaustive, but the point is that not everyone shares our passion or sees our need. We ourselves need to not lose our way.

Landy NPO Services, LLC provides consulting services and back-office support to nonprofit organizations and charities. Our consulting service range from board issues to strategic planning to Executive Director and senior staff issues to fundraising to . . . Well, we do not get involved in anyone's actual operations. Our back-office support includes the full gamut of non-operation services, from fundraising, fund development and grant writing, to bookkeeping, to drafting policies and procedures, and so on.

Landy NPO Services, LLC is owned operated by Kevin Lamar and John Grundy. Kevin is an accountant by training and early practice. He was worked in the financial services industry for many years, and is currently CFO of a metals company in Cleveland. John is a practicing lawyer and serves his nonprofit and charitable clients as legal adviser. Both Kevin and John have sat on, and currently sit on, numerous Boards of various organizations, many local to northeast Ohio and a few not local. Between them there is over 55 years experience in various capacities helping nonprofit organizations.

We believe every nonprofit is very capable of operating its program(s). But there is a great need in the nonprofit community for assistance with planning, fundraising, identifying and maintaining direction, bookkeeping, personnel and staffing issues, board recruitment and organization, and all manner of other issues which are not operational.
