Last week, we spent 20.75 hours playing outside, Monday through Friday 🌞 that's pretty awesome. We are so happy to have a flexible schedule to listen to children when they want to be outdoors and explore, get creative and problem solve. We are also very grateful to have such a fun play area where children WANT to spend 20+ hours outside throughout the week. 🌿🌲

Thank you to this beautiful weather for allowing us to enjoy the outdoors even more.

Happy Mother's Day! 🌸🌷🌿 Our hard work this week has paid off, and the Mother's Day gift turned out amazing! We decorated vases with dried flowers, crafted flower shapes from fruit, painted wooden hearts, and captured our 'Thank You' moments! Then, we put it all together. ❀️

We share that we offer mostly organic snacks/meals but I realized this weekend that we don't explain why in our posts. I recently had some organic cereal, yes I like cereal, and found some notes on the back of the box that were informative and got me thinking that maybe we should share some of those reasons for those that are unfamiliar.

A little back story; I studied Early Childhood Education in college but I also received a minor in organic farming and while I was studying, I was selected to recieve a small grant from CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) to accomplish this minor. They gave me a boost financially and also gave me handouts that explain the importance of organic and I'd like to share that here.

To me, it's been explained a thousand times as I worked in a chiropractic office and the Dr's would have health talks about the importance of organic. I also used to work at OTCO (Oregon Tilth Certified Organic) and got to understand the process of organic labeling a lot more before getting the organic farming grant. I understand why it's important. Let's look at this together and hopefully you'll see why we choose organic everyday.

Here are two examples of our lunch meals this week, yesterday and today. 4/5 food group items were organic. We do our best to offer organic meals and snacks every day and ask for permission when we offer sugar items not approved on the USDA food program.

If you know anyone needing care, we currently have availability for preschool ages 3-5 years old! Contact us at 541)501-2714. Thank you so much and have a Happy New Year!

First of all, I took 53 hours of training this year compared to last year's 48 hours of training. As a Certified Family Child Care, we are required to take 15 yearly hours of training.

Second of all, none of those hours included how to make a pancake snowman or candy cane fruit but you know what, I'm proud of myself for trying and these snowman pancakes are still better than my regular pancakes.

Lastly, this snack took me way longer than it probably should have and you know what the children asked, "Are these pancakes and raisins?" πŸ˜…

The good news is, most of them ate it all ⛄️ 🀍
