John started out servicing appliances all over Eastern Mt, and Western ND in 2016 until we moved back to the bitterroot in 2018. He loves what he does and wanted to focus his expertise to the people here at home, so we started our business in Corvallis to focus on serving our local family here in the Bitterroot Valley, more efficiently.

Did you know, many dishwashers have a filter that needs to be regularly cleaned?
Look in your manual to see if your model has a filter that needs to be cleaned.

A dirty filter can cause...
1. A bad odor in the dishwasher
2. Dishes to come out dirty
3. Standing water in the tub
4. Strain on the pump and spray arms
and so on.

It's a quick fix, just find your filter location, pull it out, clean the area, clean the filter with water and a soft brush and return it to its location.

In our home the filter needs cleaned every few cycles.

‼️‼️FRIENDLY WEEKEND MAINTENANCE REMINDER‼️‼️

CLEAN YOUR GREASE FILTER

😄I'M DOING MINE THIS WEEKEND SO I THOUGHT I'D REMIND YOU AS WELL😄

This is only applicable for units above a range. It's usually located under the unit.

These filters trap the grease and steam that comes up from cooking on your stove top. It helps remove poor odors in your kitchen as well. When this gets too full the exhaust fan cannot work efficiently, it causes strain on your motor and in some cases pose a fire hazard.

Unplug your unit, and pull the grease filter off. Check for clips and screws that might need removed in order to take it off. Soak it in hot or boiling water with a little dish soap. If it is extra sticky add some baking soda to the water. Clean off any remaining gunk, allow it too cool, air dry and put back in place.

This should be done at least every 3 months.

These units also have a charcoal filter that needs cleaned as well.

This filter cleans the odors from the air that circulates in the microwave making your food taste better as well as keeping your microwave running more efficiently.

These are usually located at the top of the unit. Check your manual on this one, for location and cleaning. Sometimes it takes more than one person if you have to take the unit down.

NOTE- The filter should appear dull and porous. If it is shiny and greasy it may be time to just replace the filter.

‼️‼️TODAY'S FRIENDLY REMINDER‼️‼️

Clean your refrigerator's door seal/gasket.

When the gasket on your fridge door is dirty it weakens the seal when closed.

This can cause your fridge to work overtime to keep itself at the proper temps, meaning it isn't functioning as efficiently as it could.

Once again, no worries, easy fix!

Mix a quart of warm water with a tablespoon of baking soda.
Use a microfiber cloth and toothbrush to gently clean the gasket all around the door frame and clean the frame where the gasket seals. This will help remove any food residue, mold or mildew as well as help remove any lingering odors.

‼️‼️HERE'S YOUR FRIENDLY WEEKEND REMINDER‼️‼️

Dryer lint screens need a deep clean.

Did you know that your laundry detergent and fabric softeners cause residue build up on your lint screen?

If your dryer seems to be taking longer to dry your clothes it could be because of your lint screen being clogged.

Clean the lint off of the screen and run water over it, if the water doesn't easily drain through, it's clogged up with residue.

NO WORRIES, EASY FIX!

Run hot water over both sides of the screen and wash with a nylon brush until water drains through. Pat dry with a towel and just like that you are good to go!!

This should be done at least every six months depending on usage.

DO YOU ALWAYS GET THE URGE TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH ONE SECOND LEFT, OR ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE PATIENT KIND OF HUMANS??

PROPER DOOR USAGE

DON'T SLAM THE DOOR
Most door latches have 3 and sometimes 4 interlocking mechanisms that attach to their corresponding latches when closed. All these mechanisms are plastic and can be easily broken when slammed.

DON'T OPEN DOOR EARLY
All of those components stay engaged until the microwave ends it's time AND THEN disengages when it's off. Pulling the door open early can cause improper leverage on these pieces and cause them to become brittle and break off.
Opening early can also lead to a blown safety fuse.

Me, "Jack, washers don't light clothes on fire." Jack, "I know, that's what makes it so funny!!" 🤣🤣We even had John text over voice memos, though he had no idea why. 372 frames, and 2 1/2 hours later, Jack made this awesome 1-minute stop motion!!
