I thought I was building a business.

God was showing me I was building something bigger.

For a long time, I’ve been focused on serving clients, creating short-form content, growing the business, and helping other people bring their God-given ideas to life.

And I’m incredibly grateful for that season.

But lately, I’ve felt God pulling me into something I’ve kept putting on the back burner.

Music.

Long-form content.

And ultimately, creating a show and platform where I can go deeper, tell stories, have meaningful conversations, and use creativity to point people back to God.

The funny thing is, I kept telling myself, “I’ll do that when I have more time.”

But sometimes God doesn’t give you more time.

He gives you more capacity.

And through my team, the systems we’ve built, and everything God has allowed me to establish, I finally feel like I’m in a position to step into what He’s been stirring in me.

I’m realizing that purpose isn’t always about chasing the next dollar.

Sometimes it’s about building what God put inside of you so it can eventually serve people you haven’t even met yet.

So I’m stepping into this next season with excitement, faith, and a whole lot of expectancy.

The business matters.

But the assignment matters more.

And I have a feeling this next chapter is going to look very different.

But I believe it’s going to be exactly what God intended.

Here’s the question that might expose whether you’re serving God… or just using God to serve yourself.

Why are you really showing up?

If you’re creating Christian content, running a business, making music, or building something around Jesus, it’s worth asking yourself this question honestly.

Is this ultimately about making money?

Or is it about serving people?

Because I believe Jesus is always after the heart.

There’s nothing wrong with making money.

There’s nothing wrong with building a successful business.

And there’s nothing wrong with God blessing the work of your hands.

But what happens when the money becomes the mission instead of the mission becoming the mission?

That’s where we have to check our hearts.

God can trust a servant with resources because a servant understands that what flows to them is meant to flow through them.

The goal isn’t simply, “God, bless me.”

It’s, “God, bless me so I can be a blessing.”

Jesus said in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

So ask yourself today:

If nobody paid me, followed me, applauded me, or recognized me… would I still do what God called me to do?

That question might tell you more about your heart than your bank account ever could.

Build.

Create.

Earn.

Grow.

But never forget Who it’s for.

Because when the mission is bigger than the money, money becomes a tool instead of a master.

Share this with someone building something for the Kingdom.

And follow for more content to help you live on purpose with God.

Sometimes the lowest moment of your life becomes the place where you finally learn how strong God really is.

When I was hospitalized and told I had hours to live, everything I thought mattered suddenly looked different.

My plans.

My goals.

My idea of what the future was supposed to look like.

Lying there, I had no choice but to surrender.

And honestly, that season changed me.

Looking back now, I can see God’s hand in moments I didn’t understand at the time.

What felt like an ending was actually God redirecting my steps.

What felt like ashes became part of a story I’m incredibly grateful for.

I think we often pray for God to remove the low moments.

But sometimes those are the very moments where we learn to depend on Him for strength, healing, hope, and direction.

You may be in one of those moments right now.

Maybe you’re looking at your circumstances thinking, “God, how could anything good possibly come from this?”

Keep trusting Him.

You may not be able to see what He’s doing yet, but that doesn’t mean He isn’t working.

Romans 8:28 reminds us that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”

God can take the ashes and create beauty.

He can take the setback and use it to redirect you.

He can take the moment you thought would break you and use it to build your faith.

Your worst moment does not get the final word.

God does.

Keep going.

Keep trusting.

And keep believing that He is working even here.

What if prayer wasn’t the thing you did after the meeting went wrong...

But the thing you did before the meeting even started?

Before my group coaching sessions, webinars, and live Q&As, I’ve made it a priority to pause and pray.

Not because I have everything figured out.

Quite the opposite.

I need the Holy Spirit to lead me.

Before I teach, I’ll ask God, “Is there anything You want me to speak on today?”

Sometimes it’s something I had planned to cover.

Sometimes it’s completely unexpected.

And sometimes, it has nothing to do with business at all.

Someone may need prayer for their family.

Their health.

Their purpose.

Their next season.

And I’ve learned that some of the most powerful moments don’t happen when I’m teaching.

They happen when we stop and invite God into the room.

Because prayer isn’t a last resort.

It’s a first response.

Whether you’re running a business, leading a team, creating content, raising a family, or simply trying to figure out your next step...

You were never meant to do it all on your own.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will make our paths straight.

So before your next meeting, decision, launch, conversation, or big opportunity...

Pray.

Ask God what He wants to do.

Then make room for Him to do it.

Your strategy matters.

But never underestimate what can happen when you invite the Holy Spirit into the room.
