Every time you put your key into your lock and pull it back out, the pins in the lock are gliding over the cuts in the key. After daily use of putting your key in and then pulling it out of the lock, that friction can slowly “file” the key down, wearing away the edges of the cuts.

Eventually, a key that used to work perfectly may become worn enough that it no longer operates the lock the way it once did—you may notice it sticking, needing to be jiggled, or becoming difficult to turn.

That’s why it’s a good idea to pay attention to your keys when they start feeling different. Replacing a worn key is a whole lot easier than dealing with a lockout!🔐

Elegant. Classy. And Family Friendly.

That was my vision for our lock shop, a place wait while keys are being cut or locks are being serviced. A place that as a parent you know you can include this stop in your errands even if your kids are with you because we have a basket of toys for them to play with while you wait. And maybe even a moment in your day to feel refreshed even while getting important things done.

I was honestly blown away by this project for so many reasons:

We had been looking for weeks for just the right size cabinet for our lock shop to no avail. Yesterday I was praying and asking the Lord for provision of a cabinet and then today we found this 😍 Blessings from the Lord 🥹

I also was shocked that we actually got it done in half a day 😮 With two little kids, if you have ever tried to get projects done you know how big of an accomplishment this is 😅

And I was thankful that we were so resourceful, used lots of materials we already had, and stewarded well this beautiful wood cabinet.

Now I can’t wait to put it in the lock shop! 🤩

I seriously love this little vacuum 😍
As a business owner I want my clients to feel good about the work that is being done and to not leave them with a mess to clean up after me. So anytime I drill a door and wood shavings are lying loose on the floor I get out my travel vacuum and finish the job making everything look as though I had never been there ☺️

One of the best things I did after moving to Corvallis was joining a moms group ❤️

Just because your home is “brand new” doesn’t mean you’re the only one with a key 🔑🏡

I shared about this on our most recent podcast (on Youtube ) and I believe it is so important for everyone to be aware of.

I recently re-keyed a home in a new construction neighborhood that still had master pins in the locks — meaning the contractor (and potentially workers/subcontractors) could still have access if they had a construction master key.

A lot of homeowners don’t realize this is common during the building process. Re-keying after closing is one of the easiest ways to make sure YOU are the only one with access to your home.

If you recently bought a new construction home, it may be time to have your locks checked 👌
